Staycations? Minimoons?

With the cost of just about everything on the rise, I've heard a lot about staycations and minimoons lately. This weekend, my husband & I had a little staycation of our own. We woke up on Saturday morning and decided to take off somewhere. After finding Jacksonville Jaguar tickets on ebay (incredibly cheap!), we decided that would be the place. A visit to priceline, and we had reservations at the Wyndham in Jax for quite a steal. We packed a travel bag, a cooler for pool drinks, and dropped LD (our dog) at my mom's. We had such a great time. Hung out at the pool all day, took a nap, then grabbed the water taxi (how cool is that??!!) to the game. The next day before heading out we stopped by the Jacksonville Landing for an al fresco seafood lunch. We didn't get away for long, but long enough to have a great time and feel relaxed. Anyone else partake in a staycation lately? Anyone planning a minimoon for now with the honeymoon down the road?
