It's been over 10 years since I registered for wedding gifts.
When we were married, we lived in Orlando, Florida and have since moved to Austin, Texas and now Castle Rock, Colorado. As we've recently started to get settled into our Colorado home, it had me thinking about what items from our wedding registry stood the test of time.
1. I love pretty every day dishes. Beautiful china is nice but I love having really, truly pretty every day dishes. Something with some color. This is actually something I didn't register for and wish I did. We recently invested in new every day dishes that have rings of tiny blue polka dots and they make me smile every time I use them. I love these from Crate & Barrel also!
2. I have tons of dish towels. It just seems like you can never have too many, right? The Martha Stewart ones (similar to these) that we registered for have held up amazingly! No little holes and they are nice and thick and actually dry the dishes and are fast drying.
3. Who doesn't love fresh flowers? We have a decent size island in our new home and it looks a bit sad without flowers. So every week my husband brings home a few white hydrangea stems from the grocery store and they go in my super heavy, crystal Kate Spade vase. Mine from 10 years ago looks just like this but with etched glass (in place of the gold), it's a classic staple I'll never tire of.
4. Do you have one of these? If not, put it on your list. It will get every scrape of cake better off the bowl (for licking of course). Enough said.
5. Wine glasses ... I would recommend registering for 2 red sets & 2 white sets. They break... in the dishwasher, being hand washed, falling off the counter top, dogs wagging tail hits it (and so on).
Happy Friday & Happy Registering :)
