Travel Thursday: Destino Tower at Coronado Springs, Disney

Have you all heard about the new Destino Tower at the Coronado Springs resort in Walt Disney World? You guys... it is PHENOMENAL! We tacked on a mini visit at the end of our Florida beach trip a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe how gorgeous it was.

*This was right after check in. When you walk in your room, there is fun spanish music playing on the TV and a welcome screen.

*The Dali inspired lounge on the lower level
Coronado Springs resort is a moderate resort that has been at Disney World forever and then this July they opened the Destino Tower which is a 16 floor, hotel style building. The design has a Spanish flair with Dali inspired design and architecture nods.

The bathroom was gorgous. I loved the tile and clean lines. But as a sad side note, Disney resorts are no longer including lotion with their toiletries :(
The room was spacious and had incredible views of the resort and Animal Kingdom.
Nearly the entire wall was a giant window which let in all the beautiful Florida sunshine.

*The Barcelona Lounge on the lower level

Destino Tower has a club level called Chronos lounge. It is the most spacious Disney lounge with the best food we've ever experienced. Many of the other club lounges are quite small and you always wonder if you'll be taking breakfast back to your room. This lounge had fantastic seating plus incredible views of Epcot & Hollywood Studios and you could watch the fireworks at night from the lounge. They also had a bunch of games to play and books about Dali and Disney to look at.

*So many cute Mickey shaped treats
The food was also the best club level food we've had at Disney. There were bacon, eggs, bagels & lox and more for breakfast. The mid day snack was standard chips, veggies (nothing special). But the dinner appetizers were quite impressive. Paella with shrimp, veggie crab cakes we couldn't get enough of, full meat and cheese boards, and more. Also, the beer & wine selection was quite generous.

I love how Disney hotels have little kid areas in the lobby so that kids can relax while their parents are checking in. One benefit of staying on club level at Disney resorts is that you bypass the regular check in. If you come on the Magical Express or via car and give your name, many times they will have a cast member waiting for you as you exit the car so they can take you to club level. We arrived via Uber on this trip and so no one knew we were there. I asked the gentleman helping us with our luggage where we should go for club check in and he immediately found someone to take us straight up to check in at the Chronos Lounge.

Because you can only get to all parks via bus from Coronado, it isn't the best fit for everyone. However, for us this was a 2 night trip to enjoy Disney's newest hotel addition, visit with friends and relax at the pool, so it made the perfect spot for us. We love the Epcot resorts because of the easy access to Epcot & Hollywood Studios. However, if the price was right, I would definitely stay here again and do the buses or uber to the parks for convenience.
